Yu the Great (Chinese: 大禹; Croatian: Yu Veliki) was King of ancient China from the Xia Dynasty; the first king of that dynasty and successor of Emperor Shun, who gave the leadership to Yu.[1]

Yu was a great wizard; he managed with the help of magic to control the Yangtze River.

His grandson was King Zhong Kang, the 4th ruler of the Xia Dynasty.

Behind the scenes Edit

  • Yu is described in Qian Sima Qian's Shiji as a moral king who successfully controlled the Yangtze. His son Qi was a father of Zhong Kang.
